Fly from Kilimanjaro to Zanzibar where you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Stone Town. With hundreds of years of history, Stone Town has long been a meeting point of cultures and a main trading port. Spend the evening wandering the narrow alleyways and lanes of this old city – why not round off the day with a spicy seafood dinner for your first night on the island?
The morning is yours to explore Stone Town from the Old Fort, standing for over 400 years, to the spice markets, whose trade value and desirability made this small town what it is. Nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper are grown in plantations surrounding the city – why not take a tour through and experience the village life? In the afternoon you’ll be transferred to your beach hotel to take up the most important activity on Zanzibar – relaxing!
These two days you are free for you to relax; whether you want to snorkel in the crystalline waters, take a sailing tour around the island or simply laze on the beach under the warm African sun. You could also take a sailing tour to Pange sandbank for a picnic, head to the north of the island to swim with dolphins or indulge in a local cooking class and enjoy the flavours that make Zanzibar famous.
Day 5: Depart Zanzibar
Your time in Zanzibar has come to an end. This morning you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to Dar Es Salaam.
